Olympic Band Booster Committee Chairpersons

Band Chaperones Chairperson

Shall be responsible for securing chaperones for all band events requiring any chaperones, assigns the band chaperons and instructs them in the proper methods and procedures to be used at various functions. The Chairperson shall assure that sufficient chaperones are available to chaperone band events. This individual will communicate with the band director for number of parents needed and the times they are needed

Uniform Committee Chairperson

Responsible for maintaining marching and concert uniforms and for issuing marching uniforms to students prior to the start of the marching or concert season. Schedule the fitting of students, making alterations and repairs as necessary.  Responsible for purchasing uniform items, taking uniforms to and from the cleaners, receive and inspect all uniforms at the end of each season. Responsible for securing assistants to assist with the fitting, issuing and maintenance of the uniforms during the marching band season.

Color Guard Support Chairperson

Shall be responsible for assisting the Color Guard director by providing snacks during practices, assisting in getting makeup, hair and uniform preparations completed before performances. Assist in the collection of props and other guard items left on the field after performances.

 

Winterguard Support Chairperson

Shall be responsible for assisting the Winterguard director by providing snacks during practices, assisting in getting makeup, hair and uniform preparations completed before performances. Assist in the collection of props and other guard items left on the field after performances.

 

Events Chairperson

Responsible for coordinating all special events being hosted by the band booster. Such events are to include The Trojan Classic, Winterguard Contests, All District Auditions and any other events as needed. Responsible for securing individuals needed to assist in these events.

Phone Tree Chairperson

A calling committee is responsible for maintaining roster of phone numbers and starting the call tree when information is required before functions such as booster meetings, Invitational, unexpected events, etc. Chairperson shall be in charge of contacting all members when necessary for any volunteer work or other notification needed. Responsible for securing phone tree staff for calling the individuals that are under them when required to ensure information is disseminated.

Equipment/Pit Crew Chairperson

Responsible for scheduling rental truck for all band events where truck is needed.  Also is responsible for securing individuals to act as pit crew during football games and competitions. Transports instruments and equipment to rehearsals and performances; unloads and loads equipment truck; maintains the inventory on the truck; and maintains the equipment truck itself. Responsible for securing of individuals to assist in the loading and unloading of the equipment truck during band events, as well as, helping to move the equipment onto and off the performance site.

Props Chairperson

Assist in the design and construction of props used for the competitive field show or other functions. Also is responsible for securing individuals to assist in the construction of props.

Food & Beverage Chairperson's

Responsible for acquiring snacks and food for the spring banquet and for the fall concert.  Also is responsible for the set up and tearing down at these events.  Responsible for securing individuals to assists the hospitality chair in all duties. Arranges for food as needed for activities and sponsored events. Plans menu, prepares and serves food for band camps and on tour. Provide snacks at all football games and band events. Arrange for hospitality acknowledgments (cards, flowers, food trays, etc.) for band members and their families in time of illness or death.

 Fund Raising Chairperson

The activities of this committee are quite varied, but the object is to organize fund raisers to support the activities of The Olympic High School Band.

The Band Trip Chairperson

Shall make all the necessary arrangements for the annual band trip.

Publicity Chairperson

The duties of this position include publicizing The Olympic Bands activities – Trojan Classic, Tours, special events, Awards Banquet, etc. - as well as the accomplishments and honors of The Olympic Bands in local newspapers, radio and cable outlets. Shall contact news media as appropriate and get as much favorable publicity as possible for the Boosters and the Band. Shall maintain and upkeep the bands website.

The Budget Chairperson (Treasurer) 

Along with the Executive Board shall draft the budget for presentation at the first general meeting of the new school year.
